Events to watch for in winter and spring 2027

Winter Sowing An easy, low-cost method of starting seeds outdoors in gallon jugs or other small, mini-greenhouse containers We did this in Feb 2025 under the guidance of Master Naturalist, Alex Singer. Each participant took home rudbeckia, evening primrose, brodleaf asters, and many many other pollinator-friendly native perennials. It’s a wonderful way to transform a section of your yard into a hative garden. Annual Seed Swap Last February “Lady Thistledown” graced us with her presence and convened a seed swap extraordinaire. Look for more February, 2027. Bring some seeds and leave with new ones! Don’t have seeds to swap? You’re still welcome to participate. Wellness in Nature Kate Bast, Shinrin-Yoku Madison, a certified nature and forest therapy guide will give us an introduction to Forest Bathing. Nature simply makes us feel good! Learn how time with nature improves your health and well-being while learning to connect more deeply with nature.
