Our Focus

Restore life-giving, life-enhancing systems

We can use  our neighborhood to support wildlife, retain rainwater, restore healthy soil, grow food, and still reserve spaces for play and leisure. Within one single neighborhood the changes can be huge.

Move from isolation to engagement

We each have resources and skills to share. We don’t all need snow blowers and chain saws. We can provide sharing systems for tools, dishes, and other resources.   The Hill Farms Facebook Group regularly posts free household items to share.

“It seems to me the various actions proposed to mitigate climate change fall into one of two categories:

    • either personal lifestyle changes such as recycling or eating more vegetarian food,
    • or laws and guidelines for corporations and nation states such as the Paris agreement.

The problem with these two categories is that one of them seems too insignificant and the other just too big and too far away. “

But there is a huge gap between those two categories … You can be a changemaker as part of a community, as an extension of the self”

Mattias Olssen (Imprint | How Ordinary People are Changing the World)

Promote eco-friendly alternatives

“Reducing our waste, reusing what we can, and recycling materials is a simple yet profound way to contribute to a healthier planet.” Dr. Mahabubur Rahman

We work to support awareness of alternatives and develop skills to make those possible
